Delegation St. Petersburg visits companies in Euregio

In the week of 7-11 March 2011 Saxion University of Applied Science organised an international week. During this week a delegation from St. Petersburg paid a visit to several companies in the Euregio. The visit was organised by World Trade Center Twente and Enterprise Europe Network. The delegation consisted of people from the Institute of Polymers LLC and Scientific-Production Association on plastic processing named after “Komsomolskaya Pravda” LLC. The companies Epimid Vorrink and Epro in Gronau, Steray in Enschede and the World Trade Center Twente in Hengelo were visited.

The members of the delegation were looking for partners, companies or research institutions, in their scientific programs. Mrs. Olga Kubanskaya of the Institute of Polymers explained that they were looking for companies or institutions that can help them with a project in the field of coating water channels. Therefore the company Epimid Vorrink was visited. The Head of the International Relations Department, Mrs. Daria Lipatova, mentioned the project on measurement of the strength of railway tracks. Mr. Thomas König, Business Development Manager with Epro (on the photo right with the delegation), gave a presentation of the Epro company as part of the Emerson Process Management Group.

The director Sergey Mitko with his colleague Yuri Udalov of Steray explained the difference between the educational system in The Netherlands and Russia and discussed the technology profiles the students are working on. Mr. Olaf ter Haar, Innovation Consultant at Enterprise Europe Network and Mr. Freerk Faber, director of the World Trade Center Twente welcomed the delegation at the WTC Twente in Hengelo. They explained about the International Business Information Center (IBIC) of the WTC Twente. Through the IBIC the global demand and supply is matched with the Dutch-German Euregional demand and supply. It is a unique partnership between the WTC Twente, the Chamber of Commerce East Netherlands and the Enterprise Europe Network.

On Thursday 10th of March the match FC Twente-Zenith St. Petersburg was paid a visit. After the match the delegation made acquaintance with several members of the WTC Twente Business Club. On Friday 11th there was the closing ceremony of the international week of Saxion. A delegation of Saxion will bring a return visit to Sint Petersburg under a comparative study of the economic region St. Petersburg and the region Twente.
